MOST PREFERRED MEDICAL COLLEGES IN KERALA AFTER SECOND ALLOTMENTS KEAM - 2021

The second allotments to the MBBS course in 10 government and 19 private self-financing medical colleges with differential fees structure have been published after eliminating the candidates who got allotment in the second phase of All India Quota (AIQ) allotments (as per MCC regulations) .

The analysis of last ranks of the second allotment under state merit category to the medical courses under KEAM 2021 has indicated that the Government Medical College, Kozhikkode (LR-277) is leading as the most preferred medical college followed by Government Medical College, Trivandrum(LR-414) and Kottayam (LR-584) . Regarding the alotments to BDS course , the Dental college of Kozhikode (LR-1877) is leading followed by Trivandum (LR-2380) and Kottayam (LR-2778) Dental colleges. A correlation can be observed among the preferences of aspirants in the top medical and dental colleges may be due to the established reputation and facilities of these colleges. The correlation is also consistent over the years.

The candidates up to the Kerala State Medical rank of 814 have received allotments to MBBS course in government sector under state merit category, while it reached to a level of 6736 in private self-financing medical colleges. Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute (LR-1513), Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (1652) , Thrissur ,.Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Kolenchery (LR-1975) were the most preferred colleges under self-financing sector.

In BDS course, the last rank of allotted candidate was 3233 in government sector as compared to 25006 of private self-financing dental colleges. The Pushpagiri college of Dental Science ( LR- 8179 ), Mar Baselios Dental college (LR-10518) and PMS college of Dental Science &Research (LR-14403) were the most preferred dental colleges under private sector.

The economically weaker section candidates were received allotment up to the rank of 2939 to MBBS course under government colleges while the last rank of allotted candidate to the self-financing medical college was 13948. The dental allotment to the corresponding category was 5669 and 30014 respectively.

The next allotment will be mop-up allotment to fill the vacancies by relaxing the restrictions that applied yester years like movement between government colleges and transfer from private colleges. The aspirants have to note the progressive changes made into the KEAM 2021 allotments.
