The analysis of last ranks after the second allotment has indicated that Computer Science Engineering (LR-1634) is continued to be most preferred course among the engineering aspirants. It was followed by Computer Science with Data Science(LR-2586), Agriculture Engineering (LR-4612) Chemical Engineering (LR-4918), Electronics & Communications Engineering (LR-5489) Industrial Engineering(LR-5637), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (LR-6594) courses. Out of the 47629 candidates in the engineering rank list, candidates up to the rank of 47272 were allotted under Economically weaker section in government engineering colleges. In private self-financing colleges, the last rank of allotment under state merit is 47619.
College of Engineering, Trivandum (TVE) is continued to be the favourable choice for the engineering courses among the aspirants. It was followed by Thrissur Government Engineering college (TCR) and TKM College of Engineering, Kollam (TKM). College of Engineering, Trivandum (TVE) was the most favoured for the courses Computer Science Engineering (LR-174), Electronics & Communications Engineering (LR-289), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (LR-800), Mechanical Engineering (LR-1252), Applied Electronics & Instrumentation (LR-1804) and Civil Engineering (LR-2349).
Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara (MDL) is leading with meritorious candidates followed by Sri Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering (SCT) among the Government Controlled Self-financing engineering colleges. In Model Engineering College the last rank of allotments for CS, EC, EE, ME respectively 688, 2328, 4883 and 8701.The Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning of Sri Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering were also attracted by the aspirants (LR-4376) in 2021.Candidates up to the rank of 47608 were allotted under government controlled colleges under state merit.
Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology (RET-CS-LR 2999) is the only private self-financing engineering college which had a last rank of allotment below 5000. RET is the leading institution under this category with other courses like Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (LR-6201) and Computer Science with Business Systems (LR-6554). If the last ranks under 10000 is considered, the following colleges and courses will appear in the list as RET (IT-LR 9436, EC-LR 9822), Muthoot Institute of Technology & Science (CS-LR 5274, Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence LR-8393) , Federal Institute of Science & Technology, Angamaly (FIT-CS LR 6711), Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda (CCE-CS-LR 8107) and Mar Baselious College of Engineering & Technology,Trivandrum (MBT-CS – LR 8656).
The most favoured institution to pursue the Architecture course was College of Engineering, Trivandrum (TVE) with Last Rank of allotment 31 followed by Thrissur Government Engineering college (TCR-Last Rank of allotment 111) and TKM College of Engineering, Kollam(TKM-Last Rank of allotment 142).
Among the Private Self-financing Architecture colleges the choices were MES School of Architecture, Kuttippuram (MRR – Last Rank of allotment 285) ,College of Architecture , Trivandrum (NVR- Last Rank of allotment 341), and , Avani Institute of Design, Kozhikkode (AVR- Last Rank of allotment 390. Candidates up to the rank of 2075 and 2917 were received allotments under state merit and economically weaker sections in Architecture course after the second allotment.
The order of preference is continued with College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kozhikkode (LR-417) followed by Trivandrum (LR- 862 ) and Allapuzha (LR- 902) Government Pharmacy College as the preferred colleges under pharmacy stream. Among Self-financing Pharmacy colleges, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, Kizhattur (LR- 5807) was the most favoured pharmacy college. Under government colleges, the candidates up to the rank 1043 and in self-financing colleges the up to the rank of 17732 were allotted.
The allotments of government engineering colleges will be likely to be affected when admissions to the IIT , NIIT institutions and medical admissions commence based on joint entrance examination (JEE) and NEET. The last ranks may dip by 2000-3000 in various courses under government engineering colleges.
