The mop-up allotments to the Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy courses of KEAM 2020 were limited to the government sector colleges by inviting fresh options to fill the vacancies remaining after three rounds of allotments. Opportunities were given to the candidates from Government controlled colleges to register options though the candidates admitted to private self-financing colleges were barred from participating at this stage. The merit positions of the last ranks have not diluted much instead some of the courses like Agriculture Engineering, Dairy Technology and Food Technology have improved their merit. The most preferred Engineering college is continued to be College of Engineering, Trivandum (TVE) in all the courses. The highest last rank of the admitted candidate in TVE was 6873 in Industrial Engineering course under state merit.
At the closure of the engineering allotments of the year 2020 , Computer Science Engineering was the most opted choice by the meritorious candidates and that to at the College of Engineering, Trivandum followed by Electronics & Communications Engineering (EC), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EE) , Mechanical Engineering, Applied Electronics and Civil Engineering. The trend observed in 2020 is that the courses EC and EE have been favoured more than ME and CE compared to yester years.
The new generation courses like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, etc have judicially opted by the candidates choosing the institutions where such courses are offered. The Computer Science & Engineering with Data Science of M.A College of Engineering, Kothamangalm (MAC) was dearer to the candidates where the last rank of allotments was 3409 under state merit.
The Architecture course is still a demanding course among the aspirants. Candidates up to the architecture rank of 180 was allotted in government colleges. The last rank of allotted candidate in B.Pharm course under government sector is 2913.
