The analysis of last ranks of allotments to medical (except MBBS/BDS) and allied courses after the first allotment has explored the trends in the allotments of KEAM 2021.This does not include allotments in MBBS and BDS courses. There were 17 Ayurveda medial colleges out of which 5 are in government sector. There were five Homoeo medical colleges and one each for Sidha and Unani courses under the first allotment.
Among the allied courses B.V.Sc & AH is the most preferred even more preferred than BDS of self financing dental colleges and BAMS courses, followed by B.Sc (Hon.) (Agriculture ), B.Sc (Hon.) Forestry and B.F.Sc Fisheries. The last ranks of the allotted candidates were respectively 3245 (AV), 4845 (AA), 6135 (FR) and 6789 (AF) under state merit (SM). The College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Trichur (TCV) and College of Agriculture (COH), Trichur were favoured institutions preferred by the aspirants among the allied courses. The candidates belonging to economically weaker section have received allotments up to the rank of 8619 in one of the allied courses.
AYUSH aspirants have preferred aided ayurveda colleges like Kottakal Ayurveda medical college (KTL-LR 4515) and Ollur Ayurveda college(OLR-LR 5998) than government colleges except Government Ayurveda College, Trivandrum (TVA -LR 5692).The last rank of allotment to BAMS course was 6201 under government sector and in private self-financing colleges , candidates up to the rank of 18232 have received allotment. Ahalia Aurveda medical college(LR-10304) followed by KMCT college of Ayurveda (LR-12927) were preferred by the meritorious candidates. The candidates up to the rank of 18232 were allotted to the BAMS course under state merit category while it is 24948 for economically weaker sectin.
KEAM aspirants have favoured Kozhikkode Homoeo Medical college (LR 4837) and Trivandrum Homoeo Medical college (LR 6415) as their top choices for BHMS course. The last rank of allotment to BHMS is 7356 while BUMS and BSMS courses had allotments up to 18786 and 18963 respectively during the first allotment.
It was a relief to the students and parents for fixing the fee structure of all courses prior to the allotments. The fees of BAMS course varied from rupees 13230 for government colleges and rupees 199415 for self-financing Ayurveda colleges.
