Most Preferred Courses and Colleges After Third Allotment under KEAM 2019

The analysis of last ranks of allotments to AYUSH courses after the third phase of allotment has indicated varying trends of the prioritization of courses in 2019 by the aspirants of Kerala state. In Engineering and Medical streams they had definite patterns of selection of colleges for their career building.

The first allotment to AYUSH courses was done in the third phase of KEAM and it was the last phase of Engineering allotments to private self-financing colleges also.

In medical stream, though MBBS and BDS continued to be the most pursued courses but other courses in the stream had priorities different from yester years with improvements in their last ranks. In the allied courses B.V.Sc &AH, B.A.M.S , B.Sc (Hon.) (Agriculture ), B.Sc (Hon.) Forestry , the last rank of allotments were less than five thousand. In the medical and allied courses, the preferred courses (except MBBS/BDS) were veterinary science (B.V.Sc &AH –LR 3354) , and B.A.M.S (LR 4589) followed by B.Sc (Hon.) (Agriculture) , B.Sc (Hon.) Forestry with 4849 and 4856 as last rank of allotments respectively under state merit (SM).The last rank of BHMS is 6001 while BUMS and BSMS courses had allotments with 12884 and 13181 respectively. Medical aspirants have given top priority to Kottakal Ayurveda medical college (KTL) as compared to other government Ayurveda medical colleges for BAMS course while BHMS is preferred in Kozhikkode Homoeo medical college.

Candidates with last rank of 2158 received allotment for B.Pharm course in government sector while 30636 was the last rank of allotment in self-financing pharmacy college.

The most preferred engineering courses after the third allotment were Computer Science Engineering (CS-4802) followed by Civil Engineering (CE-6965), are Agricultural Engineering Course (AG-7370), Mechanical Engineering ( ME-7558), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EE-8402) and Electronics & Communications Engineering ( EC-8897).The other prominent courses were Diary Technology (DS-9612), Food Engineering & Technology (FE-10812) and Food Technology (FT-11474).

The last rank of allotments under Architecture (AR) stream was 196 and 2999 respectively for government and self-financing colleges.
