Most Aspired Engineering Courses and Colleges under KEAM 2019

Though the phase five of mop-up counseling can not be considered as continuation of online allotments as fresh options are invited with participation of some government colleges and few government controlled colleges for vacant seats where last ranks will contradict with that of earlier phases, it is to exploring the salient features of online allotments of KEAM 2019 in the interest of professional course’s aspirants. The opportunities for technical education in the state had increased to secure the allotment to one or other courses up to the rank of 45592 out of the 45597 candidates ranked in the list, under state merit in self financing sector.In government engineering colleges the last rank of allotment is 18554 as compared to 45557 in government controlled self financing engineering colleges. In architecture colleges the allotment attained to the level of 2999 out of 3825 candidates.On the allotment of B.Pharm course the last rank of allotment was 30636 out of 39912 candidates.

The analysis of last ranks, after the closure of online allotments to Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy courses done by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) during 2019, has indicated that only few courses and colleges had last rank of allotted candidates less than five thousand ranks.Out of the 32 B.Tech engineering courses (except Architecture), seven courses had allotment of meritorious candidates below 5000 ranks in selected government and government controlled engineering colleges. The Computer science engineering course is leading with lowest last rank of 479 followed by Electronics & Communications Engineering( EC- 788) , Mechanical Engineering (ME- 1532) , Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EE-1609), Applied Electronics (AE-2569), Civil Engineering (CE(-3097) , Chemical Engineering (CH-4012) in 2019 . But the Electronics & Communications Engineering (EC) course has received more priority than Mechanical and Civil Engineering in the current year which is once downgraded in their choice. So the conventional engineering courses are getting momentum in prioritization of courses by the aspirants which are in the right direction of a developing technology .

Among the government engineering colleges, College of Engineering, Trivandum (TVE) is continued to be the most preferred college by the meritorious aspirants of the state in 2019 in all the courses offered by the college including Architecture. All government engineering colleges are fairly doing well in getting meritorious candidates except Idukki, Wayand and Palakkad Engineering colleges. There are many other engineering colleges which had last rank of allotment less than 5000 in one or other courses. The first three ranked colleges in its order are College of Engineering, Trivandum (TVE) , Government Engineering college , Thrissur (TCR), and TKM College of Engineering (TKM). Other colleges in the stream are Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology,Kottayam (KTE), Government Engineering college, Kannur (KNR), Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam (MAC) , Government Engineering college, Barton Hill (TRV) and NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad (NSS). The Agricultural Engineering Course (AG) in Kelappaji College of Engineering & Technology, Tavanur ( KCT) and Diary Technology (DS) in College of Diary Science & Technology, Food Technology (FT) in College of Food Technology(CFT) ,Industrial Engineering (IE), Mechanical Production (MP), Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering(BB), Production Engineering (PE) are also demanding courses marked by the aspirants.

Among the 25 government controlled self-financing engineering colleges Model Engineering College (MDL,CS-1305, EC-3555) and Sri Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering (SCT, CS -4718, BB-9175) are competent at the levels of government engineering colleges.

None of the private self-financing engineering colleges of the state has figured in the list for any course with last rank of allotment below 5000. But RET (LR 5343) and MUT (LR 9432) had prominent positions among the 108 private self-financing engineering colleges in Computer Science Engineering course.

The last rank of allotments under Architecture (AR) stream was 196 and 2999 respectively for government and self-financing architecture colleges.

Candidates with last rank of 2584 received allotment for B.Pharm course in government sector while 30636 was the last rank of allotment in self-financing pharmacy colleges.
