Most Preferred Courses and Colleges After First Allotment under KEAM 2019

The analysis of last ranks of 2019 after the first online allotments done by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) during 2019, has indicated specific trends of the prioritization of courses and colleges by the meritorious aspirants of Kerala state. In Engineering stream they had definite patterns of selection of colleges for their career building.

The choices of engineering aspirants have favoured College of Engineering, Trivandum (TVE) in all among the five most preferred engineering courses during 2019.The top meritorious candidates have chosen Computer Science Engineering as their first choice to join the College of Engineering, Trivandum for their higher studies. The last rank of allotment in Computer Science Engineering (CS) was 97 under state merit (SM) category.

In 2019, the second preferred course was Electronics & Communications Engineering (Last Rank of EC-228) which is a different pattern than last year and it was followed by Mechanical Engineering (Last Rank of ME-520 ), Electrical & Electronics Engineering(Last Rank of EE-530), and Civil Engineering (Last Rank of CE-1154).

For Applied Electronics (Last Rank of AE-1129) , Industrial Engineering (IE with a last rank of 3142) and Architecture courses, aspirants had also preferred TVE as their destination of higher learning. The other three most preferred courses were Chemical Engineering (CH) in Thrissur Government Engineering college with 2274 as the last rank of allotment followed by Diary Technology (DT) in College of Diary Science & Technology (Last Rank-3962) and Agricultural Engineering Course (AG) in Kelappaji College of Engineering & Technology, Tavanur with last rank of 4769. Under Government sector,Thrissur Government Engineering college, Govt. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam; Govt. Engineering College, Barton Hills, Trivandrum; TKM College of Engineering and M A College of Engineering were also preferred by the aspirants.

In government controlled self financing engineering colleges also a similar pattern is observed with Model Engineering College, Trikkakara followed by Sri Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering, LBS Institute of Technology (LBT) for women and College of Engineering,Chengannur(CHN) as the prominent destinations opted by the candidates.

Among the private self financing engineering colleges new institutions are emerging with Rajagiri Scool of Engineering and Technology (RET) followed by Federal Institute of Science & Technology (FIT), Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MUT) and Mar Baselious College of Engineering & Technology (MBT) as preferred destinations.

Under medical stream, Pharmacy course was preferred in Kozhikkode Pharmacy College followed by Allapuzha and Trivandrum Pharmacy Colleges.
