Kalpetta: Noted Hindi writer Prof Rajendra Mohan Bhatnagar said that Gandhiji is the first person who gave space for truth in politics. He said ``goal of power is truth, the strength of truth is ahimsa and the goal of ahimsa is serving humanity'', that was the stand of Gandhiji. .

He was speaking in a function organized by Mathrubhumi to felicitate freedom fighters in Wayanad as part of celebrating its 75th anniversary of Gandhiji's visit to Mathrubhumi.Gandhiji ventured to human service by experimenting with himself. Gandhiji is our past, present and future. He also absorbed the essence of all the religions. Though he was poor like Kuchela , in the matter of strength he was like Sri Krishna.

The function felicitated freedom fighters K Govindan, Thettamala Krishnankutty, P Parameswaran Nair and A S Narayanapillai.
Mananthavadi diocese head Mar José Porunnedamin in his inaugural speech said that the values uplifted by Gandhiji are gaining more prominence in this scenario full of conflicts. Mathrubhumi director (Marketing and Electronics Media) M V Shreyamskumar MLA said that a return to Gandhjis ideologies is the only way to recover from the shock the nature received from the impromptu developmental activities.

Mathrubhumi Managing Director M P Veerendrakumar who delivered the presidential address said that people who wish to sustain the biological society will never disregard the Gandhian ideologies.
