Idukki District Information
Idukki is a beautiful high range district. The district headquarters is located at Painavu. About 66% of the State's Power needs come from the Hydroelectric Power Projects in Idukki. Rugged mountains and forests cover about 97 percent of the total area of the District. Anamudi, the highest peak in India south of Himalayas, is in Idukki. It is one of the main tourist destinations in Kerala with its hill stations.
