In the 2nd allotment of KEAM, I have seen that only 3 seats were allotted to MU category in MES Medical College.But earlier it was said that out of 50 seats given to government 20 seats will be allotted to the students of respective community.But now it is shown that only 40 seats is given to government and in that only 3 seats to MU.What is the reason for this?

The community seats to the minority community will be allotted only in the second round of the actual allotments. The 3 seats now considered for the trial allotment are the mandatory seats available for Muslims as per the Mandatory reservation principles. (8% of 40).
Which is better for study - mech. in SCT Trivandrum or EC in University College Thodupuzha?Please tell your opinion on this..

The course to be undertaken has to be decided by the student. If you do not have a taste or the aptitude to study a particular subject, there is no meaning in joining even the best preferred College for the course. So first decide upon the branch you would like to take up. Then examine the College. Each branch has its relevance. If your plan is to go for higher studies, the choice of the college may not be that important as you have to go through the GATE. If you are aiming at a campus placement, then the reputation of the College has to be looked into. Even if companies do not come to the college for recruitments, there are several agencies which help you to get a good placement. So, take a decision accordingly.
Respected Sir,

I shall be grateful for your kind guidence for :

(i) If I am allotted a seat during the first allotment on 1st Sept. at my 110 th option, out of 125 options I have registered, should I accept it and make payment; or
(ii) Can I wait for a second allotment on 18th Sept to get a better position, without making the payment?

(iii) What will be the consequence, if I dont accept my chance in the first round and wait for the second round, whether I will lose the chance ?

(iv) In case of no allotment in the first round, whether can I get any opportunity to change options for getting allotment in the second round ?

I am confused on this and nobody is able to advise me properly.

Kindly enlighten.

(i)                  If any option registered is allotted, it has to be accepted by remitting the fees in the prescribed time limit in any branch of Canara Bank.

(ii)                Without making the payment, you will not be considered for the second allotment.

(iii)               If you are allotted an option in the first allotment and if you do not accept it by remitting the fee, you will lose that allotment. You will also lose all your claims in the stream concerned and will not be considered for any allotment in the second or subsequent rounds in that stream.

(iv)              If you have no allotment in the first round, you are in better position. You will be considered for the next round of allotments provided you do not cancel all your options. You will also have the facility to rearrange your registered options- can delete registered options, can change the position of registered options. However, you will not get the opportunity to add new options.

I got 1 st (trial) alloted to Nehru college,Tcr for AU. But unlucky to get for the second. Sir is there any chance for me to get alloted for ME in SNM , or any self finance collge considering the former years. My Engg rank is 26991(gen) and 3896(mu).

You need no get worried too much. There has been a general upward movement in last ranks admitted to various courses/colleges in the 2^nd trail as compared to the first trial. For Automobile in NCE, the last rank that got 2^nd trial allotment under Muslim category has rank 24054. For ME in SNM, it is 20854 in MU category. Last time (1^st trial) these were 27685 and 22800 respectively. So you have a very high chance to get AU in NCE and a reasonably good chance to get ME in SNM if not in the 1^st allotment, in the subsequent allotment. Anyway wait and watch the results of the allotments.

All branches have their importance. No branch is better than the other in all respects. If you have a taste for the branch, that branch is a better choice for you. For getting a job, you have to make yourself employable on completion of the course undertaken. With the Automobile industry booming, the prospects of Automobile Engineers are also high.
What about three colleges namely(Kannur Medical College,Karuna& SUT) which have signed agreement with Kerala Govt ,are not included in option registration?

These colleges have not so far received the sanction of the Medical Council of India and the Government of India to admit candidates to the MBBS courses during 2007-08. Hence these colleges have not been included in the list of Colleges to which options can be registered although they have entered into agreement with the Government.

My engg. rank in KEAM is 17079.Will I get a merit seat in any Govt.supported self financing college in EC or ME or EE. Pls help me immediately.

Candidates with rank lower than 17079 have got trial allotments in Private Self- financing Colleges in almost all the branches under State Merit. Your chance will depend on the options you are registering. You will be considered for allotment only based on the options you register before 9 am on 30^th August. So go through the last rank details of 2^nd trial allotment and register options accordingly. The drop in fee structure cannot be foreseen now as the matter is before the High Court and Fee Regulatory Committee.

CANDIDATES with this Engg rank have got trail allotment in some of the courses in some of the Private Self- financing Colleges. Your chance to get an allotment in the actual allotment depends on the number of candidates higher in rank than you registering options after the trail allotment. So wait for the second trial allotment. Even if you do not get any allotment in the first allotment, you may get one in subsequent allotments. So be optimistic.
Sir, what is scholarship fee? Is there any difference in fee between manag. seat in IHRD engg and govt. seat in private engg colleges?

This has not been clarified by the Government or the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations so far. As per the information available in the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Scholarship fee is not applicable for the Management seats in IHRD Colleges. Whatever hike is made in the fee in these seats will have to be given by the candidates allotted to theses seats. Whether this hike will be treated as a Scholarship in the case of Government seats in Self- financing Colleges is what is to be clarified by the CEE. Please contact the office of the CEE
As per the prospectus there are 54 self financing nursing colleges and 21 self financing BPharm colleges, but in the option list 7 nursing colleges and 2 BPharm colleges alone are seen.It may kindly be explained ...
1.Whether I can give option to remaining colleges
2.If not what is the way to get admission to those colleges
3.Whether the remaining colleges will be coming in the option list later.

As of now, only those Private Self- financing colleges that have entered into agreement with the Government on seat sharing and fee have been included in the option registration process. The remaining colleges will be included in the option process only as per the decisions of the Government. You can register options only to those colleges and courses included in this process. If they are included subsequently, you will get a chance to register options to those colleges also. If you are interested in admission to colleges that are not included in the list, you have to approach the colleges concerned to know about the procedure for admissions there.
