According to the information available till now, the govt plans to do away with the present system and go ahead with a renewed method in which the plus two marks will be given weightage. But we are not sure whether the govt will proceed as per this plan , since many a times the decisions of govt were cancelled. Hence we can only wait for the timebeing.

What can we reply when you say that you scored 50 marks out of 960 in Engg entrance ? Are you sure that you will qualify in the exam by scoring atleast 10 marks in a paper ? See the last rank details given in this portal's homepage to arrive at a conclusion.
