I saw the notification for the admission for BE/ B Tech courses in Anna university, Tamilnadu. Is any entrance exam required for that? I have 540 marks out of 600 in +2 conducted by Kerala State HS Board.Is there any chance to get a merit seat in a college affiliated to Anna university ? Please give me a detailed answer.

There is no Entrance examination for admisison to Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu. There are limited seats reserved for 'Outside state' candidates. You may refer to the Booklet of Instructions available at http://www.annauniv.edu/tnea2008/booklet.pdf and ascertain your eligibility.

Basically the aptitude of the individual matters. There are so many avenues for Science students after Plus Two. You can go for the conventional Degree Courses or the New generation courses like BSc Electronics, Bio-technology, Industrial Microbiology , BCA, BSc IT and so on. There are M.Sc Integrated courses available in various fileds of basic sciences as well as in new generation fields like Biotechnology, Microbiology etc.

If you are referring to ICSE, it may be out by 20th. If you are referring to the CBSE results, it can be expected in the last week of this month.

You can find jobs in the Mechanical field itself. Companies like L & T, Mahindra etc recuit Mechnical Engineers. You can go for teaching Posts. You can join MBA after your B.Tech. For getting admission to reputed institutions like the IIM for MBA, you will have to come at the top in the CAT- Common Admission Test. Admissions are also given by Instituttions based on Management Aptitude Test conducted by All India Mangements Association.

As per last ranks of candidates admitted for various branches, the seats in this college generally get filled up first , after those in College of Engineering Trivandrum are filled.
