You are in very difficult situation really. If you do not have any specific branch preference or college preference, both colleges are equally good. In CET you have chance to get ME, Industrial or Civil as per the trends of last year. Anyway, the choice of one over the other will not in way affect your future prospects since both have good standing.
I have got 398 in the AIEEE state rank (TN), I have already got a seat EC in Amrita coimbatore . Based on the rank whether I will get any seat in trichy NIT or calicut NIT. Which is better , EC in amrita or metelllergy or chemical in any NITs

The Closing ranks of AIEEE admissions 2007 are given at http://ccb.nic.in. It is given in terms of Al India Rank. You can verify your chances. The choice between colleges will depend on the branch you are interested. If you are interested in a specific branch go for the branch. But if your liking is for a college, go for a college.

My brother, Akhil, is very much interested in doing Marine Engineering. I have a few of questions in this regard.
1) We knew about the marine engineering courses provided by MERI, in Calcutta only now. So he had not applied for it when they called for the applications. When we checked the answer key for IIT JEE, we feel there is a good chance that he will fall in the extended list. Is it possible to apply for it now?
2) He is writing the CUSAT entrance exams. From the last couple of years data is it possible to know till which rank he could get marine?
3) If you could give the information on tne "marks-rank" statistics, that would be of great help too

It would be highly appreciated if you could clear these doubts.

Since the last date is over, it would not be possible to apply to MERI now. The last rank details of CUSAT for 2007 are not availbale. But as per the last ranks of 2005, candidate with rank around 2657 got allotment for Marine Engg under free seat.
i have only 48% in maths for aissce 2008.iam an SEBC-muslim candidate.and i know this year i can join for engineering (only 45% required bcoz of reservation ).But sir is it applicable for next year,next year also for SEBC candidates 45% is only required?

The conditions for 2009 cannot be anticipated now. But being a general exemption, there may not be a change. But there is no guarantee on that.

It is approved provided you have the eligibility to join B.Ed course under Kerala University

It is approved if you are eligible for admisison to B.Ed in Kerala Universtiy

You can very easily find out these details from the Last Rank details given in the homepage of this portal. As per last year figures the last student admitted at CET,TVM in the ME branch had a rank of 1394. It means there is not a wide gap between your rank and the last year position. You can give option for it. Wish you all the best.
My AIEE Rank for 2008 is 22571 in Engg and 1664 in Architecture. I have secured 85% in Plus 2 exam and belong to OBC Category. Any chance of getting admission on merit either for engineerig or Architecture.

You will have to wait. But definitely get admission in NITs , not in Kerala but some other states.
