Please do not ignore my question pls answer it.
I have got 28082th rank in AIEEE.
As per last years trends I should have got into atleast NIT Srinagar.
I have already applied for counseling,till yesterday when I checked my status ,the number of counselles above my rank were only about 30 for NIT Srinagar(mech) ,but when I checked today in the morning I found that it increased to about 1037
,a simultaneuos change was seen in all colleges ,earlier for many of the options that I gave there were only a limited number of people above me, the figures were mostly in two digits but today morning almost all the figures increased to about thousands.
Please tell what may be the reason for such a change overnight.Does it mean that only students within ranks of 15000 or so only will get admission
kindly answer my doubt

Dear Midhun,

From this year onwards there is a major change in the admission norms of NITs, which you might have noted. Fifty percent of the seats in the local NITs will be reserved for that state. The rest of the seats will be filled on a national basis, depending on the AIEEE score. On the one side it is good for the meritorious students. But on the other side it affects those who are behind in the ranking. As per this criterion, 50 percent seats in NIT-Calicut will be reserved purely for Keralites, whereas the remaing seats will be filled from the AIEEE ranklist as per the rank and options. Since there are 20 NITs in the country and the online registration of options is going on, it will take some time to emerge national picture every day. That may be reason for your confusion. Don't be panic. Continue regn of options with other branches( if you are interested) . Wish you all the best.

According to last year admssion figures, getting CS in govt engg college is difficult. You may get IT in govt college or EC in govt supported self financing college.
Sir, I would like to know about the course EE. if i take that,what are my chances of getting a job.Can it be compared to EC? And does it have similar job opportunities of EC?

Theoratically and practically , EE is found to be not below EC- but more or less equal. It will be always good if one selects EE, rather than EC,because when you begin your studies this year normally your passing out the course will be after four years. The demand for EC may not be long lasting. But in the EE, there will not be any sudden change, either upwards or downwards. So be bold enough to join EE.

Civil engg will have scope for career always. Can you imagine a world without contruction works going on ? At present it is boom period for Civil.

You can go for jobs for which Post Graduates in Physics are eligible. You can do M.Phil or go for Ph.D .You can take up teaching a preofession after clearing NET.

Generally you have to complete a UG Course to go for MBA. You can write the CAT conducted by IIM or the MAT conducted by AIMA, New Delhi for admission to MBA Programmes. VIT, Vellore has started M.B.A. (5 year Integrated programme). Admission is after Higher Secondary. Details are available at http://www.vit.ac.in/Admissions/UG_Programmes.asp#INTEGRATED
My rank in cusat btech entrance is 12719 is there any chance of getting payment seat there

There is no reservation for children of Ex-service men for B.Tech in CUSAT. Had it been there it would have been specified in the application itself.

The exact date of counselling is not yet decided. You expect it a day between 10th and 20th July. News connected with this will be given in this portal . Check the portal always.
