This depends on so many factors. For MBBS the difference will be small. In colleges of high demand, this difference will be small. As the preference of the college/course changes, the difference will also change. It can be in the range of 500 in some courses while It can be in thousands in some other courses.

As of now there is no bar to appear next year for the entrance examination. But if you leave the BSc Agriculture course you join this year, if you get an MBBS admission in 2009, you are bound by the conditions in the Prospectus related to liquidated damages for discontinuing the course joined in 2008.

You decide first the location/unit you plan to visit, if they allow such visits. Then you will have to contact the in-charge of that unit and seek permission. A formal request of the Principal would be nice, requesting sanction for the visit. You may have to give the list of students expected to visit the unit and also a brief description of the purpose of the visit. Based on the decision of the company, you can proceed. So first ascertain whether they permit such visits.
