My son has got allotment in a pvt .self financing college for ME . The name of the college is saintgits college of engineering,pathamuttom,kottayam.
Is that choice a better one considering the college and its placements ?

The college and course are not bad. Mechanical and civil branches found more demand this year compared to previous years.
Sir, I want to enquire if there is a fourth allotment for the engineering stream ?

We expect one more allotment. But no official announcement has come without which an assurance cannot be given.

PLEASE ,HAVE A REPLY TO MY QUESTION AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.SIR SOME OF MY FRIENDS SAID THAT IF AT THE FINAL UNIVERSITY EXAM OF 'CUSAT' THAT IF WE SCORE A GOOD PERCENTAGE WHICH IS CAPABLE OF GETTING A FIRST OR SECOND RANK,THEN WE CAN DO 'PHD' IN IIT WITHOUT PASSING THE 'MTECH',AND WE HAVE TO HAVE THE MINIMUM PERCENTAGE IN GATE EXAM

SIR IS THIS INFORMATION CORRECT ? OR THE ALSO LOOK OUR MARKS IN 10TH AND PLUS TWO?

Without MTech you cannot do PhD in engg. in a recognised university in India.
is there forth allotment for keam 2008?

No official announcement has come. We expect one more allotment. CEE authorities also think in that lines. But they are not sure whether it will be possible or not.
I just wonder how CEE is functioning.. they have given full 7 days to register the options and for paying fee, obtaining TC and admission only 4 days!! Why a student needs 7 days to register his option? Specially when it is 3rd registration and this hungama is going on for a long. Just to go online and register, it required hardly few hours. Now let us think about second part, it is paying fee, obtaining TC and joining college. If the student might not prepare enough money, he might need few days to arrange. Next, suppose the student is from Kasargod and if he has join a college in Trivandrum, it will take at least 1 - 2 days to get TC and come back to his place. Again, if his new college is in another district, he has again to travel to there. Since hartals are like second saturdays in Kerala, he might loose one day for that also. I don't know who to address all these issues so that writing to Mathrubhumi. Even I don't think CEE doesnt understand all these issues. I doubt whether it is their habbit to trouble students like they were making student to wait for registration and allotment without giving any info on their site. Is there any step we can take up for bringing CEE in a professional way, at least from next year? Hoping an institution like yours will take some actions.

What you have narrated is absolutely true, and we really understand the plight of students. You might be knowing that we also were avoiding our sleep ,sitting before the computer,contacting the CEE officials frequently for the last several days. In this portal we have carried a report about this attitude of CEE. Anyway we will convey the feelings of students like you to the CEE. At the same time if anybody approaches the High Court with an OP bringing to the court's attention this pathetic situation of students, some solution may reach. Be optimistic.
The Hon. supreme court asked the MCI to review its 50% marks restriction. Is it only for ST catagary or for all the categories.

The direction is related to the eligibility for ST category only.

I have Completed a three Year Engineering Diploma in Computer Hardware Maintanance.And now i am working in a software firm at Cochin.I want to do AMIE through Institute of Engineers kolkata(distance).Now i want to know about the advantages of this course,and is it suitable for me .Also the value of this course in india and abroad.I kindly request you to give a solution?

AMIE is equivalent to BTech, except for teaching. For a diploma holder like you it will be useful. But beware, AMIE syllabus is very hard.
Sir i am belonging to BPL family in forword community.In the issued reservation by the governmrnt i am eligible to get it.i had applied for M.Sc physics when the reservation order is not issued and therefor i didnot mentioned it in the application form. i attended for the intrvie of admission twice and i didnot get admission(for general merit).During the third time i couldnot attend for the interviw and i had lost my chance.is it affect my chance to be admitted in the reservation quata?since it is a new sheme, is the rank list for only bpl student is again published?

Candidates in the rank list should be called for the interview. Represent your case to the college authorities.

I wanted to know if there would be a 4th round of allotment for admission to Engineering colleges in Kerala. At present I have got admission in LBS College of Engineering, Kasaragod. I have a CEE rank of 3457 and I have Electronics and Communication Engineering in Govt. College of Engineering, Kannur as my higher option. The last rank for ECE in GCE, Kannur was 3364 after the 3rd allotment under state merit. I am not eligible for any reservation. If indeed there is a 4th allotment, do I stand a chance of getting allotted to GCE,Kannur for ECE.

There may be one more allotment ( not sure ). But the possibility of getting allotted to Govt college, Kannur cannot be predicted.

I didn't complete my pre degree exam in 1993 , still one paper balance , possible to write exam again . if it's possible what is the procedure . please advice.
