In a selection process, the cut-off mark means the mark obtained by the last selected candidate. For example, in the AIPMT examination, a certain number of students would be selected for the Final Examination based on the scores in the PRELIMINARY Examination. If 20000 students are to be selected and the mark scored in the Preliminary by the last selected candidate is 185, then the cut-off score is 185. It is the mark that separates the selected from those not qualified.

For B.Tech, there are regular courses (College going) and Distance Courses. You have to first decide which mode of study you wish to continue. Based on that you have to go for the selection process.

The number of Colleges under the Engineering stream is increasing every year. The most demanded ones in the country are the IITs and the NITs. There are other colleges which are also in demand. There are some agencies that find top colleges in the country through studies conducted by them. Another way to find the preferred colleges of students is to go through the admission details of previous years. One should not totally depend on advertisements in media while selecting a college. Older the college, better would it be. Regarding the branch in demand, the choice changes from year to year. The Mechanical and Civil branches are back in demand now. But still Electronics and Communication continues to be the most demanded one. Choose one matching your taste.

A candidate seeking admission to an institution in demand needs to go through a systematic study which may extend for years. If your child is targeting the IIT JEE, it is desirable to go through the preliminaries of the preparation from now onwards. Once he is in Class X, more concentration should be given to Class X syllabus and at the same time should find some time for the IIT preparations. On entering Class XI, the training for IIT JEE should be taken up more seriously, but without compromising on the Class XI/XII Examination. With a systematic and concentrated preparation, one can get a good rank in JEE. There are centres that run long term courses. Attending as many tests before the actual examination will help the candidate to build confidence. Good Luck.
Sir,
Thanks for your effort for answering the queries. Special Allotment for ST candidtate is done. Pvt. Self Financing Med. colleges are included. But what about Pvt. Dental colleges. What about Azeezia Med. seats. Why the admissions for this college is so confident. All medias / Govt. / kept quiet in this matter. Now the site of this college is also personalized (passwword is required to open).
