The Examination dates have been announced. It is in the last week of April which means there is hardly 110 days left for the examination. You may yourself assess the chance of getting a rank good enough to get an MBBS seat . If you have a reservation benefit, a slightly lower rank than that needed for a general candidate may be sufficient. You have to get a rank around 490-510 to get in a Government Medical College. The rank can be slightly lower if you are looking only for a Self- financing College. Anyway it should be a difficult task generally. Anyway if you are decided on it, try your luck.

There are several industries/companies located in and around Chennai where Mechanical Engineers can get placements. The problem is to locate them and seek a job. If companies come to the campus for recruitment, the process would be easier. Get in touch with your seniors who have got placements. Mechanical Engineers are in demand these days.

Sir,
I am a third year B.Tech student ( EC ). I wish to go for higher studies after next year. I have two choices of equal interests - M.Tech and M.B.A.
Which master degree will provide me better job opportunities and salary ?
Will M.Tech provide only teaching jobs ? Which one has more scope M.B.A or M.Tech ?
Please, Please answer me.

MBA and M.Tech lead you to entirely different fields. Once you choose the MBA path, you deviate from the main stream of an Engineer at least to some extent. But if you go through the M.Tech stream, you can continue in the academic stream further by going for research, Post Doctoral studies, etc. M.Tech does not mean that you are confined to the teaching field. There are many organizations/companies taking M.Tech Graduates. A number of Public sector undertakings provide job opportunities to those with M.Tech. So both options can give you a good job if you are employable. All depends on your taste.

If you are planning to do a B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering, the eye sight may not be a problem if you are medically fit to do the course. You may have to give a medical certificate at the time of joining the course. Fee depends on the Institution as there is no uniform fee structure for the course. In Kerala one college offers B.Tech in Aeronautical Engg where the fee for Government seat is Rs30,750/- per annum.

The Bachelor of Business Management Courses is an Under-Graduate course which can be taken up after completing Plus Two course in any stream. The program aims at developing a student's intellectual ability, executive personality and managerial skills through an appropriate blending of business and general education. The program assists the student in understanding and developing the unique leadership qualities required for successfully managing business functions, an organizational unit or an enterprise. The program usually includes general business courses and advanced courses for specific concentrations. After this course you can go for MBA or PG Diploma Courses in Management.
