There is an established procedure for getting an income certificate. For applying for Kerala Entrance getting the benefit of SEBC reservation, what you have to submit is the income certificate issued byt he Village officer. So you will have to apply to the Village officer for that. The revenue dept has a defined procedure for issuing an income certificate. The order raising the income limit for Creamy layer from 2.5 laklhs to 4.5 lakhs in Kerala is GO(P) No.117/2008/SCSTDD dated 19.12.2008. I am a keralite but my son has not studied in kerala.He will be appearing for KEAM2009 this year claiming to be a keralite candidate.As per the application form for KEAM 2009, the course certificate needs to be obtained from the institution where he is completing his +2 and also his photo to be got attested by the head of the institution where he is studying now to prove his identification.As he is studying in a private aided college in karnataka for +2, whether the identification done by authority of this college and the course certificate issued by this college will be accepted or not? Kindly clarify

Hope you are referring to item 14 of the Application and not item 13 of the Application which relates to document for keralite status. Item 14 is to be filled up by the head of the Institution where the applicant is doing Class 12. The photo can also be attested by the Head of the Institution. There should not be any problem on this. For claiming Keralite status, the necessary documents will have to be submitted.

In the prospectus of KEAM 2009 under para 5.4.2.(a),page 12 it is stated that candidates belonging to SEBC whose anuual family ioncome during the financial year 2007-08 is upto Rs.4.5 lacs are eligible for reservation.But I have a doubt. Will they are eligible for reservation if their anuual income at the present financial year ie 2008-2009 exceeds Rs.4.5 lacs?

It must be based on the principles of computation of income as decided by the revenue authorities The GO referred to in Clause 5.4.2 is that of the Revenue Department. It is understood that there is a decision of the Govt that the income of the financial year prior to the date of application for admission to Professional Degree courses should be reckoned for computing the annual income.

A candidate joining an Engg course should necessarily be good at Mathematics. The branch to be chosen depends on the taste of the candidate. If you are going by the general trends, Electronics and Communication Engg is the most preferred branch in Engg sector. The number of seats available for this course is large and so is the number of students passing out with EC Degree. If you are looking for a lighter branch, Information Technology would be good.

But in the present scenario, people feel that is is much risky to take IT or Computer Science. If your ward plans to be confined to the filed of computers- whether it be hardware or software, Computer Science Engg would be good. Then the core branches- Civil, Mechanical, Electrical- all are back in demand these days. These are branches that have relevance in any situation. Then there is Industrial Engg, Automobile Engg, Mechanical Production all off shoots of Mechanical.

Generally there is a feeling that Mechanical is not good for girls. But if one has genuine interest, it should be taken. So try to assess the aptitude of your ward and take a decision. Believe that if the candidate completes the course well, there should not be much problem to get a job. If your child is planning to do higher studies after B.Tech, look into the options available for higher studies also.

I have appeard twice for KEAM. is there any restriction to appear third time for KEAM. what will be the possibility to implement new recommendation to count
+2 Marks for Preparing entrance Rank in 2009 KEAM.

There is no restriction on the number of chances one can attempt KEAM for 2009 admissions. Although there was a recommendation to limit the number of chances, it has not been implemented for KEAM 2009. So you can try this time too. For KEAM 2009, there will not be any consideration for the marks in Plus 2 in deciding the rank.
As my daughter is going to appear Kearla entrance exam 2009, pls suggest me the best course she take.

The course that your daughter should choose depends on a number of factors. If she has not studied Mathematics, she cannot go for an Engineering course. If she has not studied Biology, she cannot go for a Medical Course generally. Another important factor is the taste of the applicant. She should have known by now what her interest is. Choose a course according to that. If not decided by now, it is time to identify the aptitude, taste etc.

A pass in Plus Two or equivalent qualification is the eligibility for admission to the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) course. Students who have passed Plus Two with music as an optional, will be given a weightage.

The eligibility for admission to Post Certificate BSc Nursing is generally a Pass in GNM after 10+2 or equivalent examination and registration with any State Nursing Registration Council.
