This is for my nephew. In Cochin, which is the best business school for him (he got 530 marks in the MAT). Further, is PGDBM in reputed schools is better than the MBA from new management instuttes?

First of all, we can not advise you to join any private institution, since it is against our policy. As far as institution in Kochi is concerned, the best one is Cusat (Cochin University of Science and Technology). IGNOU MBA also is having a high demand. Other institutions like Rajagiri, SCMS, Bharathmatha, FISAT, Albertian , ICFAI etc charge different rates as fees. Faculty and curriculam standards also are different. So better apply for Cusat MBA. It is time for Cusat application. Forms for Cusat entrance will be distributed from 28th Feb. OK ? If you have any more doubt, pl.feel free to come to Mathrubhumi office , Kaloor (Portal section) which is very near to you.

You have not specified the Board. It seems that it is too late now. The Board examinations start next month.

It is the 'Permanent Account Number' associated with Income Tax. This is a number that has to be obtained from the Income Tax Dept, Govt of India, by Income Tax Payees in India. If you do not have this, just write Nil or Not Applicable.
Sir, Could you tell me about AMIE. Is it equalvent to B-tech

AMIE stands for Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers. A pass in Section A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) is treated equivalent to B.Tech by the UPSC and other bodies for employment purpose. With this qualification you can apply for jobs for which B.Tech is a qualification. Now the UPSC has invited applications for the Indian Engg Services examination. You can see these facts at the UPSC website. Also see the site http://www.ieindia.org/ of the Institution of Engineers.

The Distance Education Council website is expected to give the list of courses recognised by it. But the message 'Under Construction' is appearing in that page for quite some time. So you may have to use the Right To Information Act to get the required information.

If you are interested in any fee concession that may be announced by any agency, you have to submit the income certificate as per Clause 7.5.5. There is no such concession as of now. So it is your discretion. If you are not interested in it, you need not give this under item 16 and 21 of the Application form.
