The Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata offers Undergraduate courses in Statistics for Plus Two students. But it seems the time for applying for 2009-10 session is over. See the site http://www.isical.ac.in/~deanweb/ADMISSION%20NOTICE2009.pdf. Undergraduate courses for Statistics are available in Arts and Science College in Kerala. At your place Thrissur, St Thomas College has B.Sc in Statistics with Maths &Computer Application (sub). Sri Kerala Varma College offers B.Sc Statistics with Maths & Mathematical Economics (sub). Facility for PG studies is also there. You can try for Indian Statistical Service after your PG. You can go for the teaching Profession. There are various other agencies/departments in Government and Private sector that appoints statisticians. You can also engage in private work with knowledge of statistical packages. Your knowledge about the subject will certainly be beneficial in stock market studies.
What is this IIPM in real? Is it a racognised organisation? Are its courses valuable?

View Answer
Courses run by IIPM are not recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the regulatory body for engineering and management education in India. Hence better avoid risks. Even if it has no AICTE approval, you may get jobs in private sector , provided the curriculam is upto the standard. But the risk is there. Hope you mean Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is an old institution and was made a deemed university in 1987. It has got UGC approval and NAAC accreditation also. It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities too. Anyway as of now, the University of Kerala has approved only two courses of this university viz; MSW and MA English.

AICTE is the abreviation for All India Council for Technical Education. It is the regulatory body in India for ensuring quality education in engineering and management courses. It works under and in laison with University Grants Commission (UGC). Normally AICTE approval is mandatory for all courses in engg and mgmt. But in this era of globalisation when job opportunities are aplenty with private employers , AICTE approval/ non approval do not have any major significance.
1.From where I get the previous years question papers of Karunya Engineering Entrance test question papers? 2. Most questions from PLUS-1 OR PLUS-2 portions?

Karunya is a deemed university and their previous question papers are not freely available. If you can approach some students studying there it may be useful. As far as deemed universities, especially private turned deemed varsities, are concerned there is no rigid criterion or scheme of examination.
