You have not mentioned the stream. Marks are stream dependent. The mark needed to get a rank cannot be foreseen by anyone since the set of candidates of two years are totally different and they are answering different questions. So the marks of a specific rank for a particular year need not be the same for the next year. So you now think of scoring the maximum possible marks in the two papers. Mark only those answers you are certain about. Do not guess and land in loss of marks. Good luck.

Appreciate you desire to complete the Graduation. As much time has passed since you have completed the course, you must firrt take a decision whether to complete the course with Mathematics as Main subject or to complete a Degree course and be a Graduate. Looking at the practical side, the second option sems to be ideal since the course content, the pattern of examination etc would have undergone drastic changes over the last 18 to 20 years. You have not specified whether you have completed Part I, II and the subsidiaries. All these are also to be considered.

But if you are keen on doing Mathematics itself, there are distance education Programmes being offered by various universities in kerala. Kerala University offers B.Sc Distance Education Programme in Mathematics. See the link www.keralauniversity.edu/ide/ug.pdf . Since you have already completed the course, you may require the sanction of the University concerned for re-appearance. So think about it. We will certainly guide you.
My son"s rank is 625 in Amrita entrance (General ) .Is it any chance to get admission for EEC,EC and ME.How many seats are available for these in 3 centres.Altogather how seats are available for B TECH in general category in 3 centres. Pl let me know.

Your anxiety is understood. But we are not able to guide you for want of information. The Hand book issued by Amrita for Engineering Entrance is silent on the number of seats available for each course. Usually, a batch has 60 students. But it can be 120 also if the Institution has got approval for increasing seats.

The link http://admissions.amrita.edu/results/2009/engg/counseling.htm showing the allotment schedule is also silent on this. The links to the 3 institutions are available in this link. But is is doubtful whether these links are going to give you any information on the seats. So you just refer to the relevant page in the Prospectus and make an estimate of the seats at the rate of 60 per batch. Since the actual seats is not known, nothing can be said about the seats under General Category.

All these point to one fact. There is nobody to help the poor students and parents who have paid an amount to get a Prospectus ! You can try to contact the authorities at this address given at the site which ensures that the mail will never reach the addressee. "admissions[at]amrita[dot]edu". It is surprising why the Institution of such repute cannot give the address as admissions@amrita.edu ! They are not even publishing the last ranks to help students to assess the possibilities of admissions.

Hope you are speaking about the result of the S3 Supplementary examination. Since the regualr exam for S3 is to start on 15.6.09, in normal circumstances, the results have to come a few days at least before that. since those who do not pass this exam would have to be given a chance to apply and appear for the next exam. In case the result is delayed, the regular exam may be postponed. Hope the result will come as palnned by the University. Moderation and other matters are decided by the concerned bodies of the University taking into consideration various factors. It is not a matter of right.
Pls give me the steps to give my sslc pappers for re evaluation.

The last date for receipt of applications for revaluation by the Secretary, Office of the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Pareeksha Bhavan, Poojappura, Trivandrum-695012, is May 23, 2009 . Application has to be submitted in the prescribed form available in all institutions, through the Head of the institution where you studied. The fee for revaluation is Rs.400/- per paper. The fee should be paid by way of a Crossed Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalised Bank in favour of the Secretary to the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Pareeksha Bhavan, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram, payable at Thiruvananthapuram with Register Number of the applicant written on the back of the DD. DD should be enclosed with the application. The details of the DD should be entered in the Application also. The full address of the candidate to which the result of revaluation is to be sent should also be noted in the application. The words 'Application for Revaluation' should be super scribed on the cover in which application is sent. So contact the Head of the Institution where you studied, immediately.
Sir,
I am a person who completed B.Tech(Electronics & communication engg) in 2008. I got placed in an MNC through campus placement. But they are delaying my joining and till now i am not provided with a joining date.Trusting this company, I missed competitive exams like CAT, GATE etc. Sir now I am not getting any clear picture of my career. How could I brighten it? What should I do? Go for M.B.A, M.Tech or try Govt tests, Lectureships etc. Sir, Please give me some suggestions.

Dear friend, Be optimistic at the outset. Do not be discouraged by the happenings around you. By getting a good placement you have proved to others that you have the capabaility and the capacity to do well in life which should put you anywhere as desired by you. The present scenario is due to some un expected happenings. You have so many avenues before you even now. For this you must first forget about your 'suspended' placement and work for restructuring your future.

The teaching profession as you suggested is not that bad these days- financillay as well as by job satisfcation- provided you have the aptitude. There is no harm in trying the next GATE, since it would not be desirable to delay taking the test. With a good GATE Score you can go for M.Tech with Assistantships.

If you have an inclination for MBA, you try that way. Get into a good institution and go to the Management side. There are other options including positions in State and Central Government Services. You can try the Indian Engineeign Services Examinations of UPSC. There is the Civil Services that you can think about. So do not lose heart and be optimistic. You will succeed. Good luck.

Which one to choose for higher studies EEE or EC?.both would suit me well.which one has more edge over the another as far as career prospect is concerned?

If you go by demand, EC stands at a higher position. More seats are available for EC. EEE is equally good. Moreover, it is a core branch. If you are targeting an IT job, it is not going to matter if you take EC or EEE. But if you have specific interests, choose the branch accordingly considering your taste.
