Next MAT is on 6th September 2009 (Sunday). Visit http://www.aima-ind.org/mat_general.asp for details and Participating institutions. The availability of admissions based on this in 2009 depends on the admission schedule of the Institution concerned.

A clear picture on availability of seats has not emerged so far. As per Prospectus 2009, there are 850 seats in the 5 Govt Medical Colleges. Of this there is some uncertainity about 100 seats in two Medical Colleges. There are certain seats in this 850 that do not come within the purview of CEE allotment. In Govt supported SF Colleges, there would be 100 seats with Govt fee, it is expected. In Private SF Colleges there would be around 375 Govt seats with low fees, it is expected. In the 5 Govt Medical Colleges, 15% seats will go under All India Quota. It comes to 127 as per the Prospectus.

You can download the form for applying for eligibility certificate from http://keralauniversity.edu/forms/pdf_application/form12.pdf In addition to the normal fee for the certificate, you will have to remit Rs.10/- towards cost of form. Details of all documents to be submitted with the form is given in the form itself. Scheme and syllabus means the full details of the course such as the number of years/semesters to complete the course, the subjects to be studied, the scheme of the examination including marks, pass criterion etc. Syllabus includes the details of the topics to be studied, paper-wise. Any course has a scheme and syllabus which can be obtained from the University concerned.

You can go to the link http://aieee.nic.in/ccb2009/ORCR09/stream.htm and get the details of allotments of 2008. There is no seat in Govt/Aided /SF Engg college in Kerala to be allotted from AIEEE. There may be some other states that make allotment from this list.

In 2008, this mark for Medical fetched a rank around 860. It need not be like this in 2009. In 2008, candidates with Medical rank up to 537 got MBBS in Govt Medical Colleges (as on 27/9/08) while those with rank up to 1070 got MBBS against Govt seat in Private SF Colleges as on 21.9.08. Fee last year was Rs.25000/- in Govt Medical Colleges and Rs.45000/- in Govt seats in Private SF Colleges. Fee for 2009 has not been announced so far.
