Sir,
I have got B.tech Mechanical engg. @NIT,Calicut in the second allotment as my 1st option.
I also got Naval architecture @Cusat in the final allotment.
So please help me to compare these two courses (mechanical & naval architecture) considering the collages where i have got allotment & to choose a best one.

Mechanical is a General course while Naval Architecture is a specialised course pertaining to a specified field. Both will have their importance depending on the situation. Mechanical Engg may have more job avenues. But in case of recruitments related to Naval Architecture and related fields, a Naval Architect will have greater preference. Nobody will say that ME at NIT is a bad choice. It is a difficult decision to take. So think about this and take a decision which you should firmly stick on to. Good Luck.

This cannot be said now. But the trial allotment may give some indication of the trends. Watch that.

The option list of the candidate will be seen at the bottom of the Home page. In that list, if you want to delete one of the registered options, type '0' (zero) in the box to the right and click the 'update' button also on the right side. This option will be removed from the list. It will go back to the top of the list in the appropriate position. If the priority of options are to be changed, type the revised priority number(s) in the box to the right of the concerned option in the option list of the candidate at the bottom of the page and click update button on the right. New options can also be added to the list by typing the appropriate priority numer in the box against that option in the option list at the top. After that take a printout of the list and see that the list has come as desired. A details procedure is given in this portal itself. Jobs for IT and CS Graduates are basically in Software Companies. But the use of this technology has spread to almost all areas so that jobs are there in almost all areas in the Governmetn and Private Sector. It can be Govt Depts, Banks, Insurance, RAilways, Space Technology. Administration etc to name a few in the Govt sector. About the Private Sector, you hear about IT companies regularly. IT is a more general course concentrating on the applications part while CS goes deep into the study of Computers, the Hardware as well as Soft ware.

Not at all. You can register all the options available in your home page if you so desire. But remember that you are bound to accept an option if it is allotted to you.
suppose i got a seat in 1st allotement & i paid the fees.
if i opt for heigher option will my present seat get cancelled?

Once you pay the fee for the first allotted seat, that seat is safe. You can opt for higher option also. If you do not get any higher option you can continue with the first allotment

is it possible to change options after the trial allotment
after the allotment if i get a seat n there is a vacancy in the branch tht i gave more priority then will i be able to change my branch

Trial allotment itself is to assess the chances for allotment and make necessary alterations if needed in the options registered. So you will definitely get a chance to alter the options after trial allotment. After the closing of allotments, no change of branch is permitted by the CEE office, it is understood.
