Posted by LIVIN PRAMOD, VATAKARA On 13.08.2009My son is eligible for scholarship of HRD (above 80% marks in CBSE +2). They insist that no other scholarship is to be received by the candidate when this scholarship is given. Now the confusion is that it is heard that CEE/GOVT. is planning to give back the excess amount paid as fee (of course, if they reduce the fee) likely to be by way of Scholarship (My son got admission in CEK, Kottarakkara and paid a fee of Rs. 25,000/-). Won’t it be a foolish thing to give back the excess amount paid by us by way of scholarship which can (or may) create problems among the students and which can even lead to withdrawing the actual scholarship eligible for them? If that is the case, won’t you be able to make the CEE/GOVT understand the repercussions by converting the reimbursement money as scholarships well in advance before they take a final decision, as you have made the CUSAT people change their decision of joining dates? So far we have seen that all decisions are taken hastily and put people in confusion. Thank you
Posted by K.P. RAVINDRANATH, SHORANUR, KERALA On 13.08.2009RESPECTED SIR,
I EXPRESS MY SINCERE GRATITUDE FOR YOUR EXTENDED SUPPORT ,FOR ALL THESE DAYS. I VE JOINED FOR EC AT MTC {MATHA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY, PARAVOOR,ERNAKULAM} .PLEASE TELL ME WHICH GRADE IS THE COLLEGE.
I READ THE NEWS - THAT 40% SEATS AT CUSAT IS VACANT ,DO I HAVE ANY CHANCE FOR GETTING A FREE SEAT FOR EC ?.I HAVE ALREADY PAYED FEES SO I REQUIRE YOUR ADVICE AT THE EARLIEST.
My cousin is from a very poor family. He made Rs 40000 with great difficulty on getting allotment to Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College. But on joining the college he was asked to bring another Rs.30000. Why CEE did not disclose that candidate should be prepared to face this type of shocks before joining the college? For the application form which is only one sheet of A3 size paper(should not cost more than 50 paise) they charged Rs.100! In addition to that, admission charges of Rs.1000 extra. Now the poor boy has no other option but to again look for fund. I trust Mathrubhumi can very well expose such misdemeanor so that such colleges would not squeeze poor students! Where do the poor but needy students go? Can I get some light on this action by the college? Is it with the approval of CEE, or CEE has no control over such colleges?
