The UGC has issued new interim guidelines on those having MPhil and PhD to apply for college lecturer posts. MPhil holders have to qualify NET while it is the discretion of the relevant universities/colleges to decide on PhD holders. So since you haven't secured the PhD, you need to qualify NET. Is MBA a better option after btech.I completed btech cse in 2008.Due to recession i didnt get any good job.I did not write cat or mat and i dont want to waste another year.Kerala university has invited applications for mba.Is IMK-alappuzha a good college?

Being a student of CS, you can try for MTech. The new trend is MTech instead of MBA for engineering graduates. If you write GATE and get a good score the MTech admission in good institutions will be comparatively easy. Even without GATE you will get admission to MTech in several private institutions. Proceed. IMK- Alappuzha is a newly started one and so can not expect a high standard.
SIR,
My sister is a1st year ece student in co-operative engg. college, Tellicherry.Let me know the Kerala Govt.'s plan to reduce the fee from 24,000 to an affordable one. Much talked about the same earlier but even the media is silent on the issue now..

About the last criticism- the media is not silent on it. Mathrubhumi Education has good reach in govt and political circles. We did carry a number of stories in this regard, the last one two days before. The education minister still promises on this fee reduction though it does not become a reality. We understand that the plan of the govt is to evade the situation this year. Even if implemented there won't be any refund. The "excess amount" will be adjusted towards next year's fee.

Is there any entrance test for M.Tec course?
Would you please give me details such as numbers/name of Govt Colleges/self financing colleges providing M,Tec course, No.of seats available etc ?

Glad to hear that the portal has been helpful to you. WE will continue our efforts in future also to assist the student community. Regarding M.Tech Courses, in most institutions offering the course, admission is regulated based on Graduate Aptitude Test in Engg (GATE). Those who have GATE qualification get preference for admissions. If seats are left out after that, Non-GATE applicants may be considered based on marks/Entrance. Announcement regarding GATE Exam for 2010 has come. It is given in this portal also. See that. Regarding M.Tech courses in Kerala, the availability under Directorate of Technical Education is available at http://dtekerala.gov.in/regularmtech.php . NIT Calicut and CUSAT offers M Tech Courses. See the link http://www.nitc.ac.in/nitc/admission/mtech_index.htm of NIT Calicut and www.cusat.ac.in of CUSAT for details. MAC Kothamangalam has M.TEch courses. See http://www.mace.ac.in/php/showContent.php?linkid=30&parent_id=28 Some Self financing Colleges also offer M.Tech Courses. SCMC Kochi offers M.Tech Programme in Computer Aided Structural Engineering
As far as concern our state which branch of Engineering,CE or ME has more scope ?
Posted by Abdul Nasser P, Malappuram On 14.09.2009
View Answer
Both are core Engg branches and both have enough scope if the candidate is employable. But it seems, as far as employment in Kerala is concerned, scope for ME is on a lower scale as compared to CE since industrialisation is not that high in Kerala as compared to other states. Constructions works on the other hand are there in Private and Government Sector for which Civil Engineers are needed.
