As per Wikipedia, "Mechatronics is the combination of Mechanical engineering, Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Control engineering, and Systems Design engineering to create useful products".

Mechatronic engineers have openings where integrated computer controlled mechanical and electrical systems such as those found in the manufacturing and mining industries are used and operated. They can also find openings in electrical plants and companies where automation and process control is required.

Regarding the better Self financing Colleges in state, the demand for colleges can be assessed based on the last ranks of admitted students in the college in an year. For data for 2009, see the website www.cee-kerala.org. There are other self financing Colleges not coming under the purvies of CEE allotment. These colleges come under Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements' Association.

You need to have 50 per cent marks for Maths in +2 examination to secure admission to engineering courses.

Admissions for the year have been closed by the CEE for 2009-10. However admissions to the vacant seats is being done by individual college managements and also IHRD,CAPE etc.

You may advertise in newspapers. If you are not able to find it that way, then apply for a duplicate marklist. You can approach your school head to know the procedure for applying for the duplicate marklist. It's a recognised deemed university as per the UGC Act. Sometimes the recognition of courses vary from university to university and state to state. To know the status of a recognition by a particular university, you will have to clarify with the academic section of that varsity. Thank you.

MSc in integrated sciences including bio-chemistry, bio-physics, bio-informatics or MSc in fisheries related subjects or MSc in cytology and genetics are some of the MSc options for you apart from MSc Botany. You can then go for MPhil and PhD and find a solid career.

Why not! Civil Engineers have demand always. There has been rush for admissions in the Civil Engg branch in the last two years as compared to the previous years. Try to complete the course with good grade. Good Luck!
