Dear Aneez, initially you must decide from which country you are interested to pursue your higher education. ie, USA, UK or Asian countries like Singapore. It is better for you to take MS/MTech from abroad in areas like Machatronics, biomedical science, nanoscience, electrical engineering, etc. For overseas education you need one year homework. You have to complete required proficiency exams. If it is USA TOEFL and GRE are needed. If the country is UK, IELTS is a must. Mode of admission is based on test score results, your merrit, extra curricular activities and statement of purpose.

The MS degree given in US universities is equivalent to MTech (BTech holders here can apply for MS through GRE). In India usually the decision on granting equivalence is taken by the academic council of each university. So the final decision in this regard is university specific.

For admission to individual colleges, usually there are no entrance exams for MA courses, but there maybe very rare exceptions. These colleges are affiliated to reputed state universities. So without much difficulty (if you have the right qualification) you will be able to secure admission to these colleges.

For admission to courses in universities like Jawaharlal Nehru Univeristy (JNU) New Delhi, there will be entrance tests and you may enter their websites to identify the procedures. University of Pune doesn't have any entrance. This is one example. There are several others.

You have to take BA degree in English (you may take this through distance education mode at IGNOU) and then take BEd in English to become a school teacher in Kerala. In other states of India this may differ. For becoming higher secondary state government school teacher you have to pass State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted every year by the Kerala State Government.

Since the course was in 2004-2007, there may not be any major change in Kerala University. What is your priority? BA or MBA? You have to pass BA for joining MBA anywhere in India. Sine you have not passed the BA, try to write the exam and get passed and after that you can go for MBA. Your registration will be valid still.
