School of BioTechnology, JNU offers both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biotechnology. It does not offer Bachelor course in Biotechnology.
This question is about 11th admission of a cce student. If in a school 100 school passes out from 10th and if there are only 50 seats for 11th in the same schol, some passed students will not get the right choice of subjects.If he goes to another school, he has to compete with the cce students of that school . As the valuation is internal, how the system can assure equality as the valuations and teaching and scorings can vary from school to school

Ans.: Admission to Class-XI will be based on achievement of students in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas included in CCE Card from next year. Aptitude Test will also be used for allocation of different streams. Moreover, school based Class-X examination in different schools will be conducted using question paper prepared by the Board and based on same syllabus. The marking of answer scripts will be done using Board’s marking scheme. Thus, care is being taken to ensure comparability and equivalence of assessment carried out by different schools.
this year cbse xii.std has grading system or not.

For class XII there is no grading this year. So this question need not be forwarded to CBSE chairman. CBSE is thinking of grading in XII also but not this year. OK ?

It was published in this portal last year and was here for months. When admissions were over we did remove it. What is the purpose of last year's now ?
The intention of the CCE is to de-stress students by taking them out of the periodical, mechanical exams. But will it be able to meet this end with too many projects in different segments expected to burden students under CCE ? Some projects are required to have computer facilities which several schools don�t have for its large number of students. How you hope to address this? Now several students are used and comfortable with the periodical exam pattern. They are anxious.

Your observation is a matter of concern to the Board also. Instructions are being issued to all affiliated schools to ensure that the students are not put to any stress due to excessive assessments using different techniques. It is certainly not desirable that all possible tools are to be used for formative assessment. It has also been suggested that the nature of the project should be such that the required facilities are easily available and it matches the mental abilities and maturity level of students.
There are two sides to the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) Scheme. First assessing the academic activities and then assessing the co-curricular activities. While students can expect precision from teachers on the assessment of academic activities, how will they (teachers) assess students� performance in fine arts, physical education, interaction with peers, attitude towards teachers etc. How effectively a teacher can evaluate these. Can a student expect justice on this score?

The Board has issued instructions to schools that the assessment in co-scholastic areas is to be done by a team of teachers instead of a single teacher. Every teacher is required to maintain his/her separate record in a register. The teachers teaching a particular section will meet periodically, discuss their observations about a particular student and jointly award the grade. Descriptive indicators giving justification for the given grade have also to be mentioned in the report card of the student. This will minimize subjectivity in assessment and the student can expect justice on this score. Additional guidelines for assessment of students in co-scholastic areas will also be developed by the Board and made available to schools shortly.
what are the differance NRI seat and Management seat?

You should first have an NRI related to you, the relationship being defined for being trreated as an NRI. NRI seats generally carry a higher fee rate than that for the management seats. Rank in the Entrance examination is usually mandatory for admission to Management seats while admission to NRI seats are based on marks in qualifying examination.

There is a course at IIT Kharagpur called Masters in Medical Science and Technology (MMST) for MBBS graduates. As per the website http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/mmst/ "This programme imparts engineering skills to medical professionals and train them for the state-of-the-art medical research in frontier areas of Medical Imaging, Molecular Imaging and Image Analysis, Biomaterials and Implants, Biophysics, Medical Statistics, Telemedicine, Biomedical Instrumentation, Early Detection of Cancer, Immuno-technology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Biomedical Simulation, Wound research and so on. After the completion of this course the medical professionals become well equipped to fill the void that separates the medical sciences from advanced technology" As a student having a desire to do MBBS with taste in Mathematics, this option might suit you. So go for MBBS first and then for this course. Good Luck!
