The major Entrance for BDS is the AIPMT Entrance conducted by CBSE. The last date for application was 4.12.2009. Date for submission of application for Kerala Entrance is also over. It was 6th of last month. There are some other admission announcements particularly of Self financing Dental Colleges to come. Watch out for those and apply. They generally appear in this portal also.

It depends on the rules and regulations related to the course you are doing, which yiou have not mentioned. Usaully registration for an examination is necessary to move to the next class. If you have registered for the exam, there should not be any problem. Anyway, you can get in touch with the academic section of the University concerned to know the eligibility.

As per the terms and conditions of eligibility, applicants who are yet to complete the course can provisionally apply, but they have to produce proof of having passed the qualifying exam along with the detailed appliction to be submitted by those qualifying in the written examination. It seems this clause can be made use of by those in the final year of the B.Tech Course but not by those in third year.
CCE gives many projects and assignments to students and thus students spend more time in doing them rather than concentrating in their academic exams. Why does this happen? Does CBSE expect the students to concentrate more on these type of activities?

The activities related to projects and assignments are also meant for strengthening learning. The schools have been advised to give due attention to both scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas. The Board certainly expects that students should continue putting in their best efforts for academic excellence as well as achievement in life-skills, sports, co-curricular activities etc.

Hope you did Higher Secondary in Kerala. Since you have not attended the theory and Practical you may have to seek permission of the Department to re-appear. Anyway, start your enquiry on this from the school where you did the course. You may also go through the Prospectus of 2010 available at http://dhsekerala.gov.in/downloads/NOTIFICATION_2010.PDF This has a clause related to those who have completed the course prior to 2006-07. You may also get in touch with the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education in the contact numbers given in the Prospectus.
