The reservation for economically backward among forward castes is available for non-professional courses in UG and PG sections only. For this purpose a few more additional seats are added to the existing seats. The Kerala Government had issued an order (GO) for this purpose. You may secure the GO from the higher education department in the Department of Education or the International Relations and Academic Admissions of Cusat, for knowing more details.
sir i want to do mechanical engineering diploma from ignou.does their certificates have any value.do they have a centre in kochi.what are the class timings ,do i need regular attendence.from where can i do my practical classes?please also inform me about their fee structure.

i am planning to do my engg(regular)with corresepondence or part time diploma.does any other institute provide such diploma courses in mechanical or automobile engg.thanking u vimal

For doing correspondence course IGNOU can be preferred over other universities since its certificate has more wider recognition.
I am writing this letter for my wife. Her Date of Birth as per the S.S.L.C. records is 05-05-1987. She is presently studying M.A. English and about to appear for the first year examination. From S.S.L.C. onwards in all her courses � Plus Two, B.A. English (University of Calicut), B.Ed. (M.G. University), M.A. English (University of Calicut) and also in her - Employment Registration, Marriage certificate, in her job applications to PSC, SSC etc. the D.O.B. is recorded/given as 05-05-1987. In her Voters� Identity Card, her age is recorded as per the above D.O.B. But, recently we came across her Birth Certificate, in which her D.O.B. is given as 30-12-1986. Is it necessary to change the D.O.B. as per the Birth Certificate after this much time? If the D.O.B. must be changed, if all the other records should be corrected accordingly? If this problem affect her future studies? Kindly advice us in this regard. Expecting a detailed answer.

The SSLC book date of birth is usually taken into consideration for all purposes in India. So if you do not wish to make any change, you need not proceed for changing the Date of Birth in the certificates including SSLC Book. It will not affect further studies here. If you want to effect change in the DOB in the certificate, you will get the form from District Stationary Depot (perhaps near your District Collectorate). All the instructions are given in the form. Once you get it changed through a Gazette notification, you will have to attach the notification with all applications and you need not correct it in the certificates.

IGNOU certificate has international recognition in over 35 countries. IGNOU has a centre in Kochi and you can contact them and clarify your doubts at the following phone numbers: 0484-2348189/2340203

CBSE is implementing grades alone for Class IX and Class X from this year. So only in extra-ordinary circustances that you will be able to know the marks. For that you have to approach CBSE through the respective school. You will have to convince the CBSE that the student need to know the marks for a genuine need. Usually you may not be in need to know Class X marks for admission to class XI. So in normal case you will only know grades. For lower classes (below Class IX) it is the schools who decide the pattern of scoring.
If there are only grades in the mark list of 2010 10th class board examination then which grades must a student get to opt for science stream in 11th standard?

Only subject-wise grade is given to students in Class X from this year (Not overall grade). So if the student scores top grades in science subjects, he or she will be able to get that stream in Class XI

Contact IGNOU Delhi at any of the numbers given on the following web link http://www.ignou.ac.in/ (About Us section- contact us sub section) The information provided by IGNOU kochi centre is that the IGNOU Delhi is conducting MPhil English Distance Education. The IGNOU Kerala centre is not conducting such a course. Anyway first visit IGNOU website http://www.ignou.ac.in/ and search if any information that you want is given on the website. IGNOU certificates are valid globally.
