Actually what do you intend to mean by NCHER ? Is it National Council for Higher Education and Research ? This NCHER is now only in its preliminary stage. After holding discussions with various state govts and other bodies its bill will be presented in the parliament and should get passed in both houses. At this stage what can we give you as answer regarding CGPA requirement in M.Tech/M.E for faculty positions in NITs and IITs as per rules of NCHER ? Since your doubt is regarding faculty positions in NITs/IITs you may better refer to AICTE's new norms which are available in their site as well as this portal. OK? If you have to get any more clarity on the subject pl.ask without any hesitations. You are most welcome.

I'm a BTech 2008 passout in Industrial Engineering. I've been working as an IT proffessional for last 18 months. Now I would like to take up a career in Mathematics. When I searched, I found "Chennai Mathematical Institute" offering PG/Phd courses in Maths for even BTech holders.
I've 2 questions:-
1) How good is my decision to take a diff career path?
2) How reputed is Chennai Mathematical Institute and what are the chances of getting admission for BTech holders?

If the present job is not giving you satisfaction, another option is to look for a different job based on your B.Tech if you want to continue working. But if you are interested in taking another subject for higher studies, there is nothing wrong in it provided you have the confidence to take it. Beleive that you have taken a correct decision and go ahead. Chennai Mathematical Institute is a good choice. Good luck!

You have not specified the Class/Course being done by your child. Anyway, CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Students for class X pass students and Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme for Under Graduate Studies are available Details can be had from the Scholarships link at http://www.cbse.nic.in/welcome.htm
UGC offers Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child for PG. Details are available at http://www.ugc.ac.in/notices/igsgc_0910.html. These are some of the scholarships available for single girl child.
sir,
I am a btech mechanical graduate.
I would like to do Mtech from CIPET. Can you please give some information about the placement there?
please reply

The link http://www.cipet.gov.in/academic/placement.html gives some information about the placements there. The opportunities for CIPET passouts should not be compared to that available in IT or related fields. When you join CIPET you are entering an area of specialisation and so the avenues also will be limited to that area. This does not mean that you will not have openings. Definitely there will be opportunities if you complete the course well.

A preson holding a PG is permitted to do another PG in a different subject. It is doubtful if PG can be done in the same subject from another University. Also get in touch with the Academic section of one of the Universities in Kerala to know the eligibility of MSc Graduates of IGNOU for appointments.
