You can have jobs of a general nature if you have a conventional degree. These jobs may be at officer level like the Civil services, Probationary Officer in Banks etc, like clerical posts in Governmnet or in Banks etc.(All these can be had even with Technical courses also). With Courses like B.Tech, you have opportunities in Government and more in the Private sector. So it can be noted that any qyualification can fetch a job if you are employable.

When choosing a college, many factors have to be considered. Since you are at Alleppey, you would naturally prefer to have a college offering the subject at Aleppey. Is it not? Or are you willing to go out of your home town? B.Sc in MAthematics is offered in about 35 Colleges in Kerala University. See the link http://keralauniversity.edu/wheretostudy/bsc%20course.htm for the list.
