Hope your question refers to the ranking in KEAM. All candidates will have a general rank based on the marks they secure in the Entrance. The rank you are refering to is the position that you will have among the specified category. For example, your general rank may be 1000 based on the marks you get in the Entrance. But if you have Muslim reservation, your position among those having Muslim reservation in order of rank will be your category position in MU category. If there are 95 candidates among those with MU reservation having ranks up to 999, your position in MU category list will be 96. It is not a rank but a category position. THis is how the category position rises related to your general rank.

Lump Sum grant and other benefits are decided based on the final allotment and the college where you stand after the closing of admission.

Last year, there were 200 seats each at Trivandrum and Kozhikode Medical Colleges, and 150 each at Trissur, Kottayam and Alappuzha. As per PRospectus this year too the seats remain the same. The actual position can be known when the allotment process starts.

There is no cut off. But there is a minimum mark fixed to figure in the rank list. " candidate belonging to General category will be required to have 50% minimum cut off marks, those belonging to OBC category will be required to have 45% minimum cut of marks and those belonging to SC/ST will have to ensure atleast 40% minimum marks in the MBBS Entrance Examination.".
