Sir, i got 2630 rank in engineering.. I am interested in computer science and IT. But all the elders whom i approached adviced me not to take them, and to go for mech/EC. But i dont like them at all... Sir, i am really very confused. Sir, can you please tell me the disadvantages of taking CS/IT? What should i do???

The liking of the candidate should be given the top priority if one is to do the course well. Remember, it is the student who has to study, write the exam and work. Imagine the situation wherein, you study a subject that you are not interested in, write the exam in that and work in that environment. You will not be comfortable at all throughout. So think about it. Those who speak against CS/IT may be doing so since they might feel that you will be narrowing down to a specific filed from where you cannot move out. Some branches like ME, CE, EE etc may have wider scope when compared to IT/CS. But it is the interest that matters. If you do the course well and are employable, there should not be any problem. But always there is an element of luck and also fate. Belive in yourself and go ahead. Good luck Ashis!

You need not worry about that much. You can consider the University of your choice which is near to your residence for doing an Under Graduate course unless you have a specific desire of studying in a partciular Uty. .
