My daughter got Overall state rank 1432 and Category(General) rank 891 in AIEEE. When I checked the link http://ccb.nic.in/ccb2009/aieeecouns09/orcr/InstituteWiseAllot.aspx

it is showing the Home State Quota(General) for cs in NIT Calicut the rank given below
HS OP 3683 11295

Is this rank All India or State Quota. So can we have a hope of getting admission in NIT, Calicut, Trichy or Suratkal or Warangal.

All the ranks given in OR and CR of NITs is the All India Rank.
sir, i will get admission in cusat thrikara campus ,also in fisat ,scms,ect which one should i choose .one newspaper report said this yr only 39% success is there in cusat.

Better prefer SCMS or FISAT.
sir, i have been called for cusat counseling. can you please tell me what is done in a counseling. do we have to pay the fee or anything else then?

You will have to pay the fee as per university release. Counseling is only the process of your joining the course before the uni.authorities.

You can give as much options as you find fit. May be 50 or 60.

Sir , I have realised [sadly] that I can get ONLY TKM / Thrissur Engg Colleges [My CEE Rank [Engg] : 1096 ] .I am sad because I had studied very hard in the last 2 years to get into an IIT/NIT/BITS ...but unfortunately [due to extreme bad luck , I would say ] ,even after getting very good marks in the mock tests I faltered in the original exams much to my disappointment and sadness ].

My AIM is to do QUALITY Research in Non-Conventional Energy Sector and I had badly wanted into get into a very good Engineering Institution like the IIT/NIT/BITS so that I can eventually end up in leaders like MIT/Stanford [I'm not joking , please try to understand me ]..

Now IF I study my 4 years [B.Tech Mechanical] in a college like TKM , can I stand any chance to pursue my ambition [ i will take a lot of years to first clear GATE , then IIT , then SAT , then MIT ..:( ] OR Should I REPEAT an year and make it sure that I get into an IIT [I'm REALLY confused and time is fast running out ]

I know you experts are busy and are trying your best , but I have no other options other than asking you all .Please try to answer my query thoughtfully , even if it takes a day or two.

Jishnu, Why should you get upset ? TKM is not a bad institution. It has a high repute legacy. Many of the scholars or the ' big people" you find around you are the alumni of TKM. Realise it and be practical. Don't try to repeat and waste a year. It will be a cruel deed to your parents. Pl,don't do it. .After BTech from TKM you can easily write GATE and pass. During the third year of your BTech try to write GATE just for a training and then in the final year go for an intensive training at one of the best coaching institutes like ACE, Hyderabad. Don't say say or unluck. You are actually lucky. We are not befooling you. A rank of 1096 in KEAM is not a silly thing. So give options as per your likes and dislikes and wait for the allotment. Give frst option to TVE and then only TKM. Give mnm 25 options of the best courses and colleges. Wish you all the best.
