Dear Sir,

According to trial allotment (KEAM) my son has got in LBS College (self financing). In the first allotment, is it any chance to get in Governament Colleges. His rank is 7904. he has given about 81 options, any re-arrangement required. Kindly reply before 13th.

my kerala engg. rank is 3920. and CUSAT rank is 1802.which is better, EC in chengannur engg. college or SOE, thrikkakkara? also, what is the possibility for getting CS in MACE ?

Both Cusat Thrikkakkara and Chengannur college are equally good. The last rank for ME in MAC as per the last ranks in second trial on June 12th is 1330.

I am studying in senior sec. school(CBSE).Thereisno board exam for 10th this year onwards.can i get admission to 11th in state syllabus using cce card?

If you plan to continue in the same school, you need not take the exam. But if you paln to move out of CBSE, you will have to take Class X Exam. As per CBSE website, (a) There will be no Class X Board Examination w.e.f. 2011 for students studying in CBSE’s Senior Secondary schools and who do not wish to move out of the CBSE system after Class X.( b) However, such students of Senior Secondary Schools who wish to move out of the CBSE system after Class X (Pre-University, Vocational course, Change of Board, etc.) will be required to take the Board’s External (penand paper written/online) Examination. The students studying in CBSE’s Secondary schools will however be required to appear in Board’s External (pen and paper written/online) Examination because they will be leaving the secondary school after Class X. Get details from the school where you are studying.

I got allotment for EC at NSS. Is NSS a reputed college. if we take the best 10 eng colleges in kerala will NSS be there in that list?

It is an old Aided Colleges and a college in demand by students. You can see how the students prefer the college by going through the last ranks at trail allotment.

In trial allotment i got EC at NSS.
I'm very much intrested to take M.tech after my B.tech. My questions are
1] . is this a good choice considering the fact that i should write gate after 4 years and EC is one of the papers in which heavy competition is going on.

2] When should i start preparing for gate?

3] Can i appear for gate at my 3rd year?

It is a wise decision to join Mech. You can start preparations for GATE if possible by the end of the first year after you settle down in the ollege. As per http://www.iitk.ac.in/gate/gate2010/eligibility.php, for GATE 2010, "Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes", were eligible to apply. So this is the existing rule.
